Mango on the street

13 02 2009

Street man sells me a mango
so voluptuous and soft,
on first touch
I bruise her.

My fingers split waxen skin,
tenderly peel away
her daybreak sheets,

then it’s white teeth
ravenous
on sun ripe flesh.

Her tears stream
over my knuckles
and wrist,

sweetness
devours me in a wave,

amplifies

the peals of laughter
from passerby,
bicycle bells

ring

______________all
___around

__________me.
