Dilemma

6 03 2015

The problem with letting someone in, and showing them all the things that make you happy and telling them all the things that make you sad or angry or rapturous is that when they leave you, all of the things that used to belong to you alone now remind you of them.

The solution to this is of course to never let anybody in.

But then you’re left with this terrible loneliness, the loneliness of painting a beautiful mural made of light and sensation and emotion in a secret room with a door you never open and keep pitch black until you die.
